Expanded Version of The Lord’s Prayer
OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME: Be magnified in all the earth, Lord Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Prince of Peace and Lamb of God. We glorify You and exalt the name of Jesus over all the earth. Holy are You, Almighty God, Only Thou are Holy, the Great I AM, who was, and is, and is to come. You reign and rule and are greater than any other thing. You are the only King forever. Almighty God, we lift high Your name. You are worthy to be praised, Lamb of God. Blessed be Your name. We exalt You, Oh Lord. You are Holy, Worthy, Glorious and Oh, so Good. Blessed be the Most High God.
THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN: Bless the work of Your kingdom on this earth, Oh Lord. Bless Your good, perfect and sovereign work. Transcend to the earthly and natural realm to accomplish Your purposes. We honor Your Omnipotence. We thank You for Your Omni benevolence. We humble ourselves before Your Omniscience, Almighty King. Grant us hearts that follow hard after You, hearts that are obedient to Your call and responsive to Your voice. May Your kingdom be established in our praises as we declare Your sovereignty. May the work of Your kingdom be mighty and active in and through us. Show us the way, Oh Lord.
GIVE US THIS DAY, OUR DAILY BREAD: God, Who owns the cattle on 1,000 hills, we bow before You to receive provision for our needs. Lord of the flowers of the fields and the birds of the air, clothe us in the beauty of Christ that we might go forth in trust and reliance, looking to You to meet our human needs. Let no worries distract us from our walk with You, and thank You for feeding us with life and truth – the Bread of Life – Manna from Heaven. Help us partake fully of Your goodness for Your glory.
AND FORGIVE US OUR TREPASSES/SINS AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS/SIN AGAINST US: Oh Savior and Redeemer, God of grace and mercy, grant us truly repentant hearts that we might turn from selfish choices. Grant us freedom from behavior patterns, bondages and generational sin that we easily fall prey to. Heal us, Oh Lord. Bind up our wounds and help us walk in Your deliverance. We kneel at the foot of Christ’s cross that the blood shed for us would make us clean and pure. Thank You, Jesus, for making a way for us. And now, King Jesus, grant us Your heart and Your love for those who have wronged or hurt us and/or our loved ones. We lay those wounds down and clothe ourselves with grace, compassion and mercy. Deliver us from a critical spirit and strengthen us to leave our burdens in Your hands. Help us trust You to vindicate, take vengeance, deliver and to bind up and heal wounds…all according to the kind intention of Your will. Move us forward, past the need to understand and control, and toward the call to find forgiveness. Daily we ask for these wounds to be healed and to be clothed in Your mercy, grace and compassion.
AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL: Oh Lamb of God, we thank You for the victory and deliverance from evil. We claim the power of Your presence to walk in the freedom You have provided. We thank You that You know our weaknesses and our fallible human condition. We praise You that the strength to resist temptations from this fallen world are no match for You. Let us set no worthless or wicked thing before our eyes (Psalms 101:2) that we might continually focus on You. Equip us with Your armor, Oh Lord—with the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the sword of the Spirit, the shield of faith, the belt of truth and the sandals of the Gospel of peace. Equip us to clothe ourselves in Your armor daily and in every moment (Ephesians 6). Make us wise to the enemy’s attacks and unafraid of the tactics of evil. And bind up the forces of evil, waging heavenly war for Your kingdom’s glory. Stand in mercy to decree “NO” to the horrors of child abuse and sex trafficking, Prince of Peace. Protect the victimized, the exploited and the innocent. We declare that no scepter of wickedness shall rest on the land of the righteous (Psalms 125:3) and claim that when an army of evil comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against it. (Isaiah 59:19).
FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY FOREVER and EVER, AMEN: To You, Oh Lord, belongs all glory. You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Salvation, glory, and power belong to You. Your judgements are true and righteous, and in You righteousness and peace come together; mercy and truth kiss each other (Psalms 85:10). You reign above all else. Forever and ever Thou are God—the Great I AM. Blessed be the name of the Lord, Most High. You give waters of life to all who thirst. May all the nations come before You to worship. For You laid the foundations of the universe, Oh Lord, and You establish creation’s order. Amen and Amen. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace to all humanity.
